Practical Speaking and Workshops for Authors, Educators, and Organizations

Photo of Dayna Offutt I speak to entrepreneurs, educators, authors, organizations, nonprofits, students, and professional audiences about publishing, communication, education, technology, and turning expertise into resources people can actually use.

My presentations draw from real-world experience in publishing, higher education, visual communication, digital media, business mentoring, and technology. Each session is designed to create thoughtful conversation while giving participants practical ideas and useful next steps.

Whether I am speaking to a classroom, conference audience, leadership group, professional organization, or community gathering my goal is simple:

Help people leave with ideas they can understand, apply, and build upon. Over the years, I’ve presented for colleges, entrepreneurship programs, business organizations, nonprofits, workforce initiatives, and community groups. I’ve also spent years teaching in higher education and mentoring entrepreneurs through SCORE.

Signature Topics

Publishing Beyond the Book℠

A book can be an important accomplishment without being the final destination.

This presentation explores how books, workbooks, workshops, courses, speaking, media, research, and educational resources can work together to extend the life of an idea and reach audiences in different ways.

Participants will explore what an existing book or body of knowledge could become, how several publishing formats can support one another, and what opportunities may exist before and after publication.

From Expertise to Educational Resources

Many professionals, educators, and organizations are sitting on years of experience, presentations, research, lessons, and ideas without a clear plan for organizing them.

This session explores practical ways to develop that knowledge into books, workbooks, workshops, courses, resource libraries, and other educational materials.

Participants will explore how to identify useful knowledge within existing materials, choose an appropriate format for the audience and purpose, and develop one body of knowledge into several related resources.

Before You Publish

The decisions made before publication often shape the quality, usefulness, cost, and future potential of the finished work.

This session introduces key questions authors and organizations should consider before moving into writing, design, production, printing, or distribution.

Participants will explore the purpose and audience for the publication, early decisions involving format and ownership, and how thoughtful planning can support opportunities beyond the book.

AI, Human Judgment, and Digital Communication

Artificial intelligence is changing how people develop ideas, produce content, communicate, and share information.

This presentation examines practical ways to use AI while protecting accuracy, credibility, original thinking, and the human voice.

Participants will explore when AI can support the work, where human judgment remains essential, and how to evaluate AI-generated information and content in publishing, education, and professional communication.
